Email The Mayor's Blackberry:  Sign The Tax Reform Bill!

The Mayor will deliver his annual State of the City address on Tuesday, January 24th.  On that day he will also tell us whether he has signed into law the bill passed by City Council to reduce the job-killing Business Privilege Tax to grow jobs in Philadelphia (or whether he has vetoed the legislation as he has done with three similar bills in the past years).  Philadelphia Forward has created a new conduit for public feedback so you can urge the Mayor to sign this legislation.

The Mayor heard from his own appointees to the Tax Reform Commission who all voted for the recommendation to phase out the job-killing Business Privilege Tax...

The Mayor heard from his hand-picked members of his 21st Century Review Transition Team who all urged him to implement the Tax Reform Commission's recommendation to phase out the job-killing Business Privilege Tax...

The Mayor heard from his invitation-only Economic Summit attendees who echoed the call for tax reform...

But the Mayor has not heard from you!  Your calls have been received by secretaries, your letters have been screened, and he never saw your emails (the Mayor's office does not provide an email for public feedback).  Now, Philadelphia Forward offers the public a new conduit to directly communicate with our elected officials.  You can now send a message directly to the Mayor's city blackberry so he will hear from you and understand that you are urging him to sign Bill 050669AA to cut the Business Privilege Tax to grow jobs in Philadelphia.

Now that you can directly email the Mayor and put your views in the palm of his hand, let us send 100 messages this week to let him know that if he vetoes this legislation, he will be letting us all down.  Send your email -- Right NOW -- and tell all your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to send their emails.

The Mayor may not listen, but let's make sure he HEARS us!
