There is a mistaken belief that eliminating the job-killing Business Privilege Tax is corporate welfare. The fact is that big corporations find ways to avoid the tax or come to the city for sweetheart deals to compensate for the tax. Eliminating the Business Privilege Tax is an issue of survival for neighborhood employers, which is why "Eliminate The BPT" signs are appearing in neighborhoods across the city.
